Abstract :
Information resources are considered a main element of the national intellectual potential of Soviet society, and information access is now bought and sold in the USSR. The authors analyze the predicted development of information-market mechanisms in the USSR in the field of professional communication and scientific-technical information: specifically, they consider research and development, information support for management systems, education, advertising and publicity, and information technology. They also discuss methods for increasing the scale and improving the efficiency of the market for information
