Standardized process for developing and controlling procedures at DOE nuclear facilities

The authors describe the status of an effort sponsored by US DOE´s (Department of Energy´s) Office of Nuclear Safety Policy and Standards to design a standard process for developing and controlling procedures at DOE nuclear facilities. An overview of major project activities is also presented. It is concluded that the process proposed by DOE for developing and controlling procedures, in conjunction with the DOE Writer´s Guide, will provide for higher quality and greater standardization of procedures at DOE nuclear facilities
