Abstract
Introduces an XML-based unified user interface system which was implemented under Sun Microsystems´ J2EE (Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition) architecture. More and more systems are being transferred to Web applications and, in the post-PC period, people want to get information from anywhere at anytime, so we would like to build a system which can support multiple Internet devices. Because of the nature of the difference between each device´s agent, it is a hard to develop a single system that can serve each device. Each Internet device has a different technology to display information, such as HTML, WML, etc. We build a unified user interface model which can reduce duplication of effort and put object-oriented design into our system. In this paper, we first expound the main idea of this system and we introduce XML technology and the J2EE architecture that is used in this system, and then give a brief introduction to WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) technology. Second, we introduce our related work. Third, we introduce our work on the system. Finally, we express our conclusions and future work
