  • Abstract
The authors address the use of change as a mechanism for creating team partnerships using a team management approach. They set out to make major changes in the way they manage the development of technical information for a new release of a large operating system. Their information development effort mainly involves two first-line writing departments, although they have scattered support from other departments as well. Their goal is to improve quality and productivity. In the process, they expect to do more with less and to sustain high employee morale. They have two departments working together in a highly integrated fashion in order to achieve this goal. For this to occur, they work closely together as a team, transcending conventional departmental boundaries
