  • Abstract
Novel methods for using databases and object-oriented techniques have been developed and demonstrated to automate procedure production and maintenance. These methods, integrated into a computer-aided procedure production system (CAPPS), produce and maintain sound procedures. These automatically generated procedures are reliable because their internal and external relationships are maintained by the computer. They are usable because they have consistent format and focus on the needs of individual users and situations
