Abstract
Based on a lot of laboratory tests, the creep behavior of muddy clay is studied when unloading. The changes of heave ratio, void ratio and heave modulus under different stress levels and unloading ratios are discussed in detail. The result indicates the relation between void ratio and log-time is linear, and the heave modulus decreases sharply with time and is 2-7 times as much as compression modulus when test is at the steady stage of soil sample heave.
