Abstract :
The architecturally relevant issues which arise in the development of both plant transgression-based and plant parameter-based fault-diagnostic and reconfigurable closed-loop control systems are discussed. Moreover, the technical issues of acquiring such process knowledge and using it effectively are addressed. A direct comparison is drawn between the performance of fault-detection and closed-loop reconfigurable control systems while detecting the same fault on an industrial hydraulic drive system
