Abstract :
In this paper, we show that automata formalism is adequate for modeling the learning and evaluation layers of an e-learning platform. Therefore, we introduce a common and XML based language to describe courses´ sequences and tests and we propose an implementation by automata transition function of the learning and evaluation layers of an e-learning platform. We also define a message communication system between learning and evaluation automata in layered e-learning platforms.
