Abstract :
The Alvey design to product demonstrator project was carried out at the advanced manufacturing development site of Lucas Diesel Systems at their Gillingham business park factory. After Lucas successful application to become the design to product demonstrator, it was decided that the Gillingham business park site would provide the necessary manufacturing environment required for the project. The article outlines the environment´s organisation, manufacturing capability, machine tools and factory control
