Abstract
The widespread use of computers in the future will make people more dependent on them with the growing importance of reliability and safety. The observed trend of processing power to become cheaper will make more feasible the implementation of reliable computers based on hardware redundancy techniques. It is desirable for a computer system required to keep a plant under continuous control to tolerate faults with appear during its operation. The authors describe research in the properties of fully connected networks of 3 and 4 transputers with the aim of achieving enhanced reliability for real-time applications
