Abstract
A new higher-order cumulant-based criterion for an adaptive interference canceler is proposed in the cumulant domain. The input signals are first computed to find the self- and joint-cumulants of the higher-order statistics-based adaptive filter. The paper presents a new "criteron of goodness", called fourth-order cumulant-based minimum sum-of-error-absolute (HOS4-MSEA). With respect to different convergence factors, it proves that the new criterion works well requiring less computation than that of Shin and Nikias (see IEEE Trans. Signal Processing, vol.42, no.10, p.2715-28, 1994).
