Abstract :
Adaptive antenna arrays are commonly used to suppress interfering signal at the receive site. Gupta and Ksienski (1986) proposed modifications to the feedback loops and showed that an adaptive array with modified feedback loops provides the required suppression of weak interfering signals. Ward et al. (see IEEE Trans. Ant. Prop. Vol.AP-36, p.1551, 1988) built an experimental adaptive array and verified the theoretical analysis. The experimental adaptive array uses the modified feedback loops to control the antenna weights. In the present work, the performance of the experimental system is evaluated using signals from an existing geostationary satellite interference environment. To do so, an earth station was build to receive signals from various geostationary satellites. The details of the earth station are given. Using the signals received by the earth station, it is shown that the experimental system can null up to two weak interfering signal without affecting the desired signal.<>
