Abstract :
Summary form only given. We present a high resolution technique for characterizing chirped fiber gratings. The technique employs single-sideband (SSB) modulation of an optical signal to scan the grating about a particular region by sweeping the modulating frequency. This technique is equivalent to tuning the optical wavelength, but offers superior resolution.
