Abstract :
The state of the art of expert systems applications in Japan is briefly reviewed. The experience gained during the practical development of expert systems for system restoration and operation planning is presented. The key issues in developing the knowledge-based systems, including knowledge acquisition, evaluation of the system, man-machine interface, and integration with the existing environment, are discussed. Also discussed are future trends
