  • Abstract
There are a lot of problems in designing the small towns´ drainage pipelines. A reasonable selection of design velocity has really important practical significance. Through the discussion of theoretical analysis and engineering examples which is concluded that the limited design current velocity standard (5m/s) could be broken in small mountain towns when new type engineering plastics drainage pipelines were used. The design current velocity is increased a little, the piping deposition phenomenon and the project cost would be reduced much more.
