Abstract
A new diffraction principle that is formulated from a view point centered at an observation point by considering the wave propagation in a space seen by an observer virtually, has been proposed by the author. And the boundary value problem is formulated using the new principle. The response function in this formulation, that shows mutual dependence of the potential on the boundary of the object, diverges at edges of the object that can be seen by the observer. The response function is localized near the edge. Thus it becomes possible to express the sound field by the potential on the boundary localized near the edges
