Abstract
Developments in modern solid state integrated circuitry have enabled fast and cost effective processing of sonar signals which has previously not been possible. The Vectorlog´s combination of Doppler and EM log provides a robust, reliable system for the measurement of ship´s speed with respect to the ground and to the water in both forward and athwartships axes. With the addition of accurate ship´s heading a stand-alone navigation system is readily achieved
