Abstract :
Installation of flue gas desulphurisation plant at existing power stations inevitably clashes with existing services, which requires their relocation and diversion. The Drax FGD installation has highlighted the extent of this. The author discusses the diversion and location of electrical equipment caused by the retrofit at Drax. The diversions include a 400 kV overhead line, a cable tunnel, and fuel oil and propane systems. The location of the electrical supplies, switchgear and auxiliary transformers are also discussed
