Abstract :
The abstract monotone iterative technique is well know and very important for applications to a variety of situations. With partial order defined in metric space, the purpose of this paper is to discuss the existence of coupled fixed point for mixed monotone mapping pairs. The results are quite different from the results in recent references. The paper also gives two examples to illustrate the theorems which indicate that the coupled fixed point may not be unique.
