Abstract :
Considers an observer-based discrete variable structure control (OBDVSC) for disturbance compensation applied to a hard disk drive. Two augmented observer structures are compared within the OBDVSC framework. Simulation results are presented for constant and time varying exogenous disturbances. The features of both approaches are discussed
