Abstract :
The Mai Gaiti reach of Ye Erqiang River is typical broad-shallow and shifting channels in Xinjiang. Its´ oblique flow usually causes the left abutment´s washout. In this paper, series of river engineering model was developed for estimating local scour of the left abutment of Mai Gaiti Bridge. Experiment results show that the depth of scour is 5.43m and the oblique flow discharge is 2.7(m3/s.m) which´s surface velocity is 1.76(m/s) while the left abutment is destroyed.
