Abstract :
A finite element model is established to study the shear dilatancy effect of anchorage interface. The study shows that the maximum shear stress of anchorage interface increases with the increase of dilatancy degree of interface and shear dilatancy effect obviously improves shear stress of anchorage interface. Radial stress is generated nearby interface layer due to shear dilatancy and radial stress weakens with the increase of distance away from the interface layer and decreases to almost zero at the location far from the interface. Radial stress changes the stress bearing conditions of all materials of anchorage system and improves mechanical properties of interface materials. It is shown that anchorage interface is the weakest link of the whole anchorage system in the initial stress bearing stage due to the existence of interface layer and the anchorage system is damaged from the interface. In addition, the interface layer suffers dilatancy effect with the increase of load and this effect is helpful for improving anchorage force.
