Abstract :
The Networker concept is that of a lightweight train with an energy efficient traction package with regenerative braking. In financial terms it was required to improve journey times and reduce maintenance costs and total energy consumption. Networkers use 3-phase drives and have a wider body profile than existing electric suburban vehicles
