Abstract :
Describes a 10-week study programme in knowledge-based systems (KBS), developed on the basis of experience by Edinburgh University. It is in two stages. Stage I is concerned with breadth training and comprises a number of intensive practical-based courses on methodologies and techniques. Stage II is concerned with depth training where the knowledge engineer is required to specify and build a KBS which is specific to his or her organisation
