Abstract
The author discusses the issues surrounding the wideband HDTV transmission at frequencies around 22GHz. Among the topics covered are: HDMAC satellite TV transmission, receiver dishes for home reception, 12GHz TWTAs (travelling wave tube amplifiers) working at 240W, hybrid approach in transmitting digital enhancement information to accompany an HDMAC signal, HDMAC sub-Nyquist sampling process and the effects on spectrum requirements and link budget
