Abstract
The authors present beamwaveguide (BWG) optics designs for implementing an electronic tracking feed on reflector antennas. The emphasis is on developing a compact BWG optics design for a 34-m reflector antenna in the NASA JPL Deep Space Network subject to the space constraint of its front equipment room. The compact design also has a cost advantage from using a much smaller mirror of high-precision surface. It is most suitable where a tracking function is needed at high frequencies. A diffraction analysis verification of the compact design is presented.<>
