Abstract
Using two models, the authors study the effect of adding loss to a finite frequency selective surface (FFSS). In particular, the effect of adding loss to the structure is studied to reduce edge current behavior and quickly return the interior currents to the infinite behavior. The authors use an impedance boundary condition model derived from the nontruncated FSS problem in addition to a spectral domain method of moments (MOMs) method to predict the current behavior on an FFSS. The impedance boundary condition method bypasses the computational burden of the MOM approach.<>
