  • Abstract
Zadeh Absurdity will appear in applying D-S evidence theory to fuse highly conflicting evidence. To solve the problem, a novel information fusion model is presented. Firstly, through calculating evidence information capacity, the model pretreats evidence of containing overlapping focal element; Secondly, the model utilizes evidence distance function to gain every evidence creditable degree which is used as weighting factor to assign conflicts, and realizes the effective modification of D-S evidence theory. The numerical fusion experiments show that the novel model not only has the advantage of the two kinds of methods improving D-S evidence theory in history, but also resolves the puzzle of how to manage conflicts efficiently among different evidence sources and how to combine belief functions of containing overlapping focal element, and reaches more rational fusion result.
