Abstract :
The Ossoue glacier in the Vignemale massif (3298 m) is currently the longest and second largest of the Pyrenees (1400 m length and 50 ha of surface) and the only one presenting glacier tongue morphology. This glacier has been observed and studied for several centuries. This work presents the Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) survey carried out on the plateau of the Ossoue glacier at the end of the 2011 summer. We conducted three profiles divided in 50 radargrams (using 50 MHz Antennas), with a total longitude of 1900 m. The survey allowed us to estimate the depth and internal structure of the glacier. Finally, we compare our results with another study carried out in 2006 on the same glacier.
