Abstract :
A software architecture for flexibly offering advanced telecommunication services is proposed. The essential idea in the architecture is division of a process into a functional part and an interaction part. Each functional part communicates with the others through the interaction part. The functional parts are independent of each other because of the proposed action superposition mechanism, which realizes the interaction by event delivery to relevant processes, synchronization of partial action events performed by each process, and translation of the events into system output actions. An implementation technique for the mechanism is also proposed in order to ensure easy modification of the interaction part when adding supplementary services
