Abstract :
The paper deals with the transition to developed chaos in the chain of two unidirectionally coupled backward wave oscillators. Increase in the beam current, a complete sequence of regular and chaotic regimes occurs leading to the final transition to strongly irregular wide-band oscillations with uniform continuous spectrum. In order to obtain regimes of developed chaos the electron beam should substantially exceed the starting current value. In the case of both generators operating in the regular regimes of generation, increase of coupling strength leads to the transition to chaotic oscillations. In the case of driving power generator operating in the regime of single-frequency by a lower wide-band chaotic signal it is possible to stimulate the transition of high power generator towards the regime of developed chaos.
