Abstract :
A description is presented of multivariable system design and optimization to achieve the required time domain response. The approach is based on minimization of the goal function obtained from the system root locus algebraic equation. When the system structure is obtained further optimization can be achieved minimizing the sum of squared differences between the corresponding coefficients of two characteristic equations
