Abstract :
A spectral analyzer is a instrument that can show the characteristic of the input signal in frequency domain. It is an important tool which is used to develop and research electronic product. With the development of computer and microelectronics, Spectrum analyzing based on Digital Signal Process has been applied in all kinds of fields, and it acts as an important role. A kind of digital spectrum analyzer based on field programmable gate array (FPGA) is designed in this paper, which describes its hardware system structure and working principle and analyze the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) algorithm and the base by 4-FFT decimation in frequency algorithm for core signal processing. The use method of spectrum analyses system is easy and visual after testing in lab. If input the testing signal and change the sampling frequency, we can observe the spectrum of signal on the VGA monitor.
