Abstract
The authors discuss the evolution of the methods used to teach DSP as part of a more general course on signal processing. More particularly, they focus on the topics of correlation, spectral analysis, and digital filter design. This subject is introduced in the final year only of the Honours/Degree Course on Electronic Systems and Control Engineering. The authors discuss the aims, history, observed problems, and the attempted solutions to these problems
