Abstract :
There is a challenge for educators to provide the skills and the insight to students to allow them to contribute fully to the growing DSP revolution. The theoretical basis of DSP is often well covered in degree courses, what is usually lacking is instruction in how to apply this knowledge. Texas Instruments (TI), and other DSP vendors, wish to help to provide facilities for the practical teaching of DSP. This is partly through an altruistic desire to educate the UK engineering community in the benefits of DSP, though clearly there are other benefits which make the financial investment worthwhile. The wish to see a greater practical content is DSP teaching has caused TI to introduce a wide range of educational support. The author discusses the support provided by TI and the benefits to the student and vendor
