  • Abstract
This paper is a roughly report on an experimental study on the thermally stimulated current (TSC) characteristics of composite insulators. The study is aim to investigate the possibility to evaluate the aging of composite insulator using the TSC characteristic of the composite insulators. In this paper, two different composite insulators were used as test samples. The experimental results of TSC show that the different samples have different TSC curves. Considering the hydrophobicity and SEM microstructure of test samples, it suggested that the TSC characteristics of composite insulators might be used as a referential criterion for evaluating the aging of composite insulators.
