Abstract :
Chang´E-3, Chinese lunar landing mission, is scheduled to be launched in 2013 and is planned to land in Sinus Iridum. Its landing (rover) mission is planned to conduct Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) measurement. In a context with the Chang´E-3 GPR mission, we investigated subsurface structure of Sinus Iridum by using Kaguya Lunar Radar Sounder (LRS) data. LRS data revealed multi-layer structure of shallow subsurface in Sinus Iridum as well as inhomogeneous distribution of surface reflectivity over Sinus Iridum. Obtained information shall be considered in determining the final landing point of Chang´E-3.
