Abstract
Unavoidable transient phenomena may affect the performance of reflector antennas used in pulsed radar systems. Time-domain physical optics is used to analyze such transient phenomena as transient-induced signal distortion. Analyses are made of the transient-state of a reflector antenna with pulse-type excitations and of the transient-time of a large paraboloidal reflector. Results are presented in a form suitable for radar system design.<>
