Abstract
Preliminary results are presented for sensors with good long-term stability allowing salinity determination from measurements of electrical conductivity and temperature. A chain of these sensors, multiplexed onto a single electronic driving board within the recorder unit, allows time series measurement of salinity/temperature profiles to within
permil and
C over a period of a month. The length of the chain is not limited by any electrical considerations.
