Abstract :
The authors present a novel ultra-wideband antenna that has been developed by combining two radiating structures, the slotline antenna and the bowtie horn antenna. It is shown that this antenna can maintain a stable pattern throughout a wide bandwidth, in this case 2 to 18 GHz, a flat plateau-like main beam, low sidelobes, low voltage standing wave ratio, (VSWR) and independent control of E- and H-plane beamwidths, Applications range from satellite communication applications to feeds for compact range reflectors.<>
