Abstract :
Telecommunication transmission systems require high power linear amplifiers operating in C, X and Ku bands due to the necessity to manage a large amount of information. The helix TWT amplifier is the device adequate for this application since it can provide wide bandwidth and high power level at high frequencies. Selex Galileo is developing a high power helix TWT operating from C to Ku band using the novel RF interaction structure "Semi-metallic Rods ". The test results of the first electrical model are presented in this paper.
