Abstract :
It is shown how the impedance boundary condition can be extended to the time domain. Details of its implementation are shown for the time-domain-finite-volume method previously developed by the authors (1991). Only the first-order impedance boundary condition is considered. The radar cross sections for a dielectric-coated perfectly conducting cylinder computed for three different values of surface impedance by this method are shown. They compare very well with the series solution.<>
