Abstract :
The author presents boundary integral equations which are applicable to the basic theory of computer-aided design (CAD) software of many kinds of waveguide discontinuities. In order to understand the basic idea used in deriving the boundary integral equations, a rather simple problem, i.e., the transmission characteristics of a guided mode at a corner bend of the dielectric slab, is considered. Numerical examples of this simple problem establish the validity of the boundary integral equations.<>
