Abstract
In comparison with a synchronous motor, a DC motor has the disadvantage that the energy loss essentially occurs at the rotor. The authors survey various schemes which are proposed in the frame of sliding mode control techniques and attempt to improve the previous control schemes with regard to the robustness properties, with respect to the rotor flux. The model of the brushless DC motor considered is a standard model in the rotor frame
