Abstract
The authors believe that interest in 3D displays and the number of displays produced will increase significantly in the near future because of technology improvements and other factors. They review the basic display technologies, with comments on their applications for industrial and other purposes. Many of the display types described have been built or tested at AEA Technology, Harwell, and the comments given are based on practical experience. The review includes polarised light displays, dual monitors with viewing hood, split screen systems, the anaglyph method, the eclipse method and autostereoscopic displays
