Abstract
In this paper, we present a hybrid receiver scheme to overcome the shortcoming of the conventional interference cancellation (IC) receiver, for multiuser multicode CDMA (M-CDMA) systems. In conventional IC receivers, RAKE receiver is used in the first stage to obtain initial data estimation but substantial interference at the output of the RAKE receiver renders the initial data estimation highly inaccurate. Our proposed scheme consists of an equalizer for obtaining initial data estimation, followed by a parallel interference cancellation (PIC) section for enhancing the accuracy of data estimation. Simulation results are presented, which show that our proposed scheme achieves much better BER performance than the RAKE-PIC scheme
