Abstract :
W-band gyroklystron for high power RF applications was investigated in this paper. Calabazas creek research is developing a 91.4 GHz gyrokystron to produce 10 MW of RF power with efficiency greater than 35% and a gain of 57 dB. The design uses the second harmonic mode to reduce the magnetic field requirements. Gyroklystron employs six cavities consisting of an input cavity, three buncher cavities and a final output cavity. The input cavity is a fundamental mode cavity operating in the TE011 mode. The buncher cavities operate in the TE021 mode.
