Abstract :
This paper reports the design, simulation and test results of a C-band broadband klystron, which was developed by the Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IECAS) from March 2005 to June 2008. The typical result is over 800 kW peak output power and 30% conversion efficiency of beam-to-RF among a 400 MHz bandwidth under 5.250/00 RF duty cycle. The overall length of the tube is 702 mm, and its weight is about 22 kg.
