  • Abstract
    In this paper we introduce the design and implementation of an automatic access control system using PCA-based face recognition technique (ACFR). The system uses real time monitoring pictures to recognize face by principal component analysis (PCA), and makes access control according to the result of face recognition. PCA extracts the main feature information of face, which gets the greatest dimension reduction with the least information lost, and makes the system faster and more accurate. In addition, in order to reduce the influence of the shooting angle and light, ACFR has adopted multi-source camera and shadowless lamp method. In terms of the system´s effect, ACFR has great potential applications.
