Abstract
This paper proposes a new adaptive algorithm for antenna selection in Spatial Multiplexing MIMO systems over a fading channel. This algorithm addresses the signal processing computation complexity, which represents the main concern in antenna selection technique´s implementation. Indeed, when compared to the optimum antenna selection algorithm, the proposed one showed a significant reduction of the signal processing computation for a limited degradation of the bit-error-rate.
